Information for Dog Owners
General Information
Dogs are welcome in most areas of the Park, provided that they are kept under close control.
However, dogs are not permitted in the Nature Reserve, to prevent disturbance to the wildlife in this area.
Please keep your dog under close control at all times - keep them away from other visitors and the cattle in the river meadows.
Please clean up after your dog to allow everyone to enjoy the Park. There are many dog bins around the Park, and bags are available from the Visitor Centre.
Dog Diary
It is very muddy now and sometimes quite slippery in the Park. I can get really dirty and smelly, which means I have to have a bath when I get home! Not something I enjoy very much. I'd rather jump in the Lake and splash around. Then I can have a good shake when I get out. This results in a great deal of screaming by one of my owners. If I knew she liked it so much I would do it more often.
Sometimes there is ice on the Lakes and I would love to skid around on it. Some people like to do this too but I know the Lakes are deep and very cold. I don't want to be involved in any kind of accident. The snow is best. I like my owners to make balls of snow and throw them for me. I can catch them in my mouth and eat them all up.
Later on this year there will be a fun day for dogs (and their owners of course). Look out for further details on this website or at the Park.
